i love the little dashy red texture on the bones and faces. it makes the flat colors seem delicate. I saw a full-bodied ghost once! A cave-chested teenage boy sitting on a big flat rock in the middle of the night when i was fifteen. his eyes were lit up like a deer in the headlights. scariest thing i've ever seen.
i have a kind of "scary" experience from when i was 7. i was at this birthday party and all of us decided to play this 'Light as a feather, stiff as a board' game where you all surround one person lying on the ground and try to lift them up, each person using only 2 fingers. after we played the game (it didn't really work AMAZINGLY well) we were about to watch a movie and one girl started to cry. when we asked her what was wrong she said she saw dead people walking around in the room. it was so freaky at the time because we were young :-P i have no clue if she was lying or not but she was like shaking and crying.
Oi this is lovely *legasp* I love the lines- there's something about the skeleton which reminds me of an illustration of Witches- by Quentin Blake. It's so lovely that you combine an element of childish innocence and horror. I like how the lines feel a bit loose and carefree here. I would buy your story book in a heartbeat.
here is a creepy story:
There were two little boys who decided to invade a haunted house. It was rumored that there was a woman who was murdered in the house and that her ghost could be identified by a thumping sound- like someone jumping up and down. They said that as long as you didn't meet her eyes- you would be fine.
So the two boys- liking a bit of an adventure, decided to play hide and seek in this very house. After running around for a while, both of them heard the dreaded thumping sound. Panicking, they ran under a sofa and hid there, remembering that as long as they didn't meet her eyes- they should be okay.
Under the sofa- they could hear the thumping sounds gradually getting louder and louder.
And louder. And louder.
The next morning, both little boys were found dead. Their hair turned white- they were shocked to death.
See, the two little boys forgot a very important detail. The woman who was murdered died when a crazy man hacked off her head.
aha- that's a story my friend related to me, i thought id share it with you, just to give you some ideas, maybe. she never stated where she heard the story from, though.
And no, please, its alright! You may do what you wish with the story i've related- hopefully you'll have some ideas for a horror story from this. I wasnt expecting anything from you- you don't even need to credit me, seriously.
I'd love to read whatever you come up with, that's all thank you for the offer though
It's lovely creepy. Reminds me of those children's stories, in which some things are kinda creepy. Stuff like 'Watership down' - the beginnig isn't scary - but for me. Maybe it was the different style of drawing. Whatever - the picture also reminds me of those cover pages of 'Alice in Wonderland'.
Wow wow wow wow! I just love everything about this. Then again I'm just a real big sucker for RED. I love the delicate linework and the lettering is really great! Can't wait to see the finished product. <3

I hate scary things because I'm a wimpy but I just love how creepy and amazing your art is!! I don't have any scary stories because XD I try to avoid anything and everything scary! OH actually!
I do remember I was walking home really late at night and this little old lady all it black with a black buggie cart was on this long street I walk by and when I looked back at the street she was gone... It's not really scary but it freaks me out a bit because there was no houses near or around her, they were a bit down the street and she was walking really slowly... I'm now scared thinking about it ;-; but at the same time I think it's kinda cool
Same! I hate reading/thinking about that stuff at night before I go to sleep! It makes me so scared especially when I watched something because ;-; it usually plays in my head or or sometimes I get creepy faces or scary eyes imaged in my head when I'm closing my eyes to sleep D: that scares me the most!!
Ohh I'll check it out c: thanks! I love urban legends and myths!
That's a really great illustration, I love the freckles on there faces <3 I have a couple small stories, but I don't think my dad or my sister really believe me xD One of them happened in February, when I came home early from a Superbowl party and I heard knocking on a window in my house. I called my sister's friend and talked to her and my sister, and then went into me room. The knocking would start and stop, like it was inentionally messing with me until I was in tears, I was absolutley terrified. THen my sister put my pastor on the phone and as soon as he started praying it stopped I haven't really been scared since then, but still...not fun :[ If you need anymore, I'd be glad to help, like once I felt something punch my bed and once when I was baking cookies with some friends we heard what sounded like a child's footsteps in the hallway and then a scream, or a laugh. Either wat, it sounded like a little firl :U
