It's from brothers Grimm fairy tale Fitchers Bird, story very simmiliar to Bluebeard to give you the idea.

He is saying something like "Take this egg and watch over it carefully"

wow, this is stunning! I absolutely adore the characters' faces, and the designs in the background. Very expressionistic! and I can see that the man looks alot like Conrad!

It should stay between us, but yes, for this fairy tale I used Conrad Veidt as a reference. He is heavly influencing me now, can't be helped.

Today I'm ordering Unheimliche Geschichten, and I'm super happy^^

This happens to be one of my favorite grimm stories ( besides the 7 soldiers and the juniper tree )and you captured the mood and characters very well! I love the abstracted look of it all. Great job!
